ROUTER ID for OSPF , EIGRP , RIP , BGP

Hi Experts,
Pls. share your experience.  Is it necessary to configure your router id ( RID ) for your protocols ( OSPF , EIGRP , RIP and BGP ) unless specified to do so in the exam ?  Or configure only if  it  is instructed in the lab exam ? Pls. share your knowledge . Thanks.
